Car Rental: This is the most practical way to get around if spending a few days here.

Hut to hut hiking ends: Huts start closing in late September / October. They open again in late June.

Tours: If you only have a day, you can easily take a tour from Venice, which is approximately 2 hours away.

Keep in mind though that hut to hut trails start closing at the end of September, so if you planned on visiting those trails, visit earlier in the year such as June. September or October are great times to get photographs from the general viewpoints though.

If planning to go on longer hikes to take photos, choose late June as the weather chance of rain and crowds is lower than in July and August. Just be sure to wear shoes with grip in higher elevations as the snow may still be melting in some parts.
